The Venn diagram of people who ask why anyone still wears a face mask in 2025 & people who just kind of blankly stare at me and don't know what to say when I tell them that the last time I had the flu, it gave me Celiac disease and now I can't eat gluten without going to the ER- is a circle.

progressives will wax poetic about the importance of being strong allies and advocates for the marginalized—until it comes to putting their money where their mouth (and nose) is, because masking interferes with their weekly brunch plans
People continue to call COVID advocates’ pleas for masking “unreasonable”.

Yet people who’ve already been disabled by COVID have no choice but to live with the “unreasonable” burdens of constant COVID safety.

Beyond all reason
Long COVID patients are constantly harangued about our requests for COVID safety. Yet what we're asking for is far less than what we're called on to do to survive.

Running a small service business in a ongoing pandemic that few people acknowledge is weird because 30% of your clients for the week will cancel due to illness and it's like, oh okay I'll just cut down on all the beans & rice I'm eating and not pay the electric bill I guess.

I stopped using AI when I learned about the environmental impact.

Maybe you should, too.
Water: A 100-word email generated by an AI chatbot using GPT-4 requires 519 milliliters of water, a little more than 1 bottle.

“Even in ideal conditions, data centers are often among the heaviest users of water in the towns where they are located, environmental advocates said.”
