Don’t like to have to keep doing this, but management has left us again with no choice. We will vote again to take action and massive numbers will again be out on picket lines. And like last year, management will again back down. All of that can be prevented if management chooses to negotiate.

I was very concerned to read in the Telegraph on 4th August that Marks and Spencer had apologised for a trans employee approaching a customer. Any store assistant’s job involves approaching customers so it does not seem appropriate to apologise for a trans employee simply carrying out their role.
I would therefore like to ask -
Is Marks and Spencer prepared to support trans employees in customer facing roles against direct bigotry from customers as they would any other group protected under the equality act?
Is Marks and Spencer still prepared to accept trans people as customers on an equal basis with cisgender people with access to all the facilities we need?
