National-led government crafting a separate curriculum for disabled students.
Education's Stanford experiment not for everyone
From Auckland University - Opinion: The exclusion of disabled children from the latest iteration of the curriculum can be added to the list of problematic ministerial decisions in education.

MJ was challenged when he referred to the bs phonics data as proof the changes were working. He responded with anger.

He wasn’t invited to speak about boys achievement. He chose to do so. His presentation put boys poor achievement down to the strong female culture in schools. Nothing else.
Behind the education overhaul: Outcry reveals deep divisions in the sector
Criticism is overblown and not a reflection of what the sector thinks, according to a key player in the curriculum rewrite.

Hi, my name is Erica Stanford, and instead of having the guts to got through the proper regulatory process and make my case to the sector, I'm going to use sneaky, undemocratic means to strike at the heart of what it means to be a learner in New Zilund, and then hide behind my media mates.
Erica Stanford: Why I'm removing Treaty rules for schools
OPINION: The move reverses a 2020 change.

If Erica Stanford has any sense of self preservation, she would throw this smug self-serving fail-upwards Pakeha statue guy under the bus. He has potentially wrecked her political career.

Also has the NZ media even reported on the OIA by NZATE (I think it was) that returned evidence that David Seymour logged in to a Google Doc of the English curriculum rewrite and started making his own edits to it, completely outside the chain of responsibility and Ministry procedures?

Damn…..did the people that wrote the new “knowledge rich” curriculum even proof read their work or know how to math?

Why are random citizens consistently, and continuously, turning up major scandals by the government that NZ media are both *incapable of finding* AND refuse to report on even when they learn about it via citizen journalism???

it’s preparing the curriculum for “AI” “teachers”. it’s really hard to read the prescriptiveness any other way in the current context.
The new curriculum is cooked. It treats teaching like it's just standing at the front of the class making kids learn an endless series of facts for 6 hrs a day. The science lists of bullet points all end w a dead western scientist they (presumably) need to learn abt & cram for an assessment. Cooked.

Jesus fucking christ on a bike.

This is really REALLY BAD. This isn't history, it's propaganda.
The new Social studies curriculum is atrocious in general, but I just want to shine a spotlight on the explicit retreading of literal Nazi propaganda that is woven through the year 10 content! Buckle up this shit is shocking!

'Ironically, the 2023 curriculum was just what we needed. The 2024 version was almost as good. This 2025 curriculum seems to have been written by an offshore consultant who knows little about the context of Aotearoa New Zealand.'
From Auckland University - Opinion: How much did the Govt pay for a curriculum that is so inferior to the version already mandated in our schools? And how else might we have spent that money?
If the curriculum ain't broke, don't fix it
