📣 This is why women from all walks of life are speaking out. We know scapegoating when we see it - and we will not stay silent.

🚫 We see rhetoric of ‘protecting women’ being used time and again to target minorities, and we won’t stand by and let marginalised people be attacked in our name.

Politicians are using fear about trans+ people to distract from the systemic issues that actually harm women — underfunded services, economic and health inequalities, and male violence (predominantly perpetrated by men that women already know).

We need this message to reach every MP and every community. Please share this thread widely, organisations have spoken, now individuals must be heard too. Together, we can push for accountability and stop rights being stripped without debate.

Trans, intersex and non-binary people seeking asylum already face huge risks. The EHRC draft Code could make it worse.

We joined 40+ orgs calling on the government to protect trans people’s rights.

Thanks to everyone who spoke to me for this piece, particularly the trans journalist and campaigner, who has been through a lot.
