That's why I keep saying: fascism, the ultimate end of reactionary politics, is not an alternative ideology or set of principles. It is their absence. It's a permission structure, license to slough off the voice of conscience, join a thought-deafening mob, and indulge your basest instincts.

It's not just digital platforms! Appliances, phones, computers, cars...

The one thing I learned from my internship at Microsoft when I was a wee college student was that these companies have no incentive to fix their shitty products.

A friend asked me to add education levels and poverty rates to explore correlations to violence and homicide rates. The result is painful and nothing the National Guard can fix. These states also rely heavily on aid from Blue states.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers at the University of Florida have developed a UNIVERSAL vaccine that dramatically BOOSTS the immune system’s ability to fight tumors- even WITHOUT targeting a SPECIFIC cancer type. It has the potential to do away with chemotherapy, surgery AND radiation treatment.

I think Mills is great, but the Dems desperately need to start building up a new generation of leaders, and Platner sounds like he could be a candidate to fill that gap.

Seriously, times up. We're not going to get another chance to stop the dismantling of democracy. They are never going to stop unless Democrats take up a policy of nuclear deterrence.
Let’s go then! Burn it down! No turning the other cheek! Turn the other fist into their solar plexus!

It's been obvious for years that, apart from a handful of congressional districts, "Republican-lite" picks up a trivial number of swing voters while depressing base turnout, resulting in a net loss.

Problem is, the most influential people in our party prefer a loss to a win by anyone to their left.
EXCLUSIVE: Democratic voters who skipped the 2024 election favor candidates like Bernie Sanders and AOC. Polling shows they believe inequality is at the heart of America’s problems and health care should be available to everyone.

New research suggests the prevailing wisdom in Washington — the idea that Democrats tacked too far to the left last year — might be wrong.

Democrats and Centrists take note. This is what real leadership looks like. The leadership that the public desperately craves.
About that letter from Trump- Lula responds. "In Brazil, freedom of expression is not to be confused with aggression or violent practices. To operate in our country, all national and foreign companies are subject to Brazilian legislation."

If you think having misgivings about what Israel is doing and whether Israel should exist as an ethnostate is antisemitism, you’ll need to explain why it is you think a substantial number of Jews are antisemitic.
Well, at least we can retire that faded and false line, "antisemitism has no place in New York City."

People like when you unapologetically stand for something, specifically the working class.

This shouldn't be seen as some super lefty position, and we shouldn't need a poll to tell us it either.
Among Democrats - "Do you support Democrats like Sanders and AOC who call for a more aggressive stance towards Trump, or moderate Democrats who are willing to compromise with Trump issues important to their base?"

AOC/Bernie: 70%
Moderate Dems: 30%
