They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

ICE arrested a Chicago father whose 16-year-old daughter has Stage 4 cancer. It’s spread to her bones, and she’s undergoing aggressive treatment to try to save her life. They don’t know if she’s going to make it—and all she wants is her dad back. This is cruel, and it’s not making anyone safer.

My husband was bitten by a sea otter who climbed onto his board on Vancouver Island last spring. Thanks to a thick wetsuit, the bite left only an impressive bruise.
Bottom line: they're the real locals. Like sharks and other marine life, the ocean is their home and we're guests when we visit.
