Leftie. Politics before Party.
Neoliberalism has led to the destitution of our species - we should have a different Politics.

🚨Those who want a new Left party 🚨

What would have to happen, that hasn't already happened, for those you envisage comprising this new left party to form one?

What event do you see coming down the line that finally makes it happen?

The judge due to rule on the proscription of Palestine Action is swapped last minute for a panel that includes a judge with a history of working for the government and another who ruled in favour UK selling jets to Israel.

Accusations of a “stitch-up”.

So the actual bar being discussed for juryless trials seems to be anything where the sentence is less than 5 years.

Anything less than 5 years would not require a jury and could be decided by a judge in a closed room.

Worth noting that 3 years is the top number for activists generally...

Given that the BBC endlessly gives platforms to lobbyists from the dark money junktanks without revealing their interests, shouldn't we be seeing such apologies every day?

Better still, how about not doing it? If they want to appear, we should know on whose behalf they are speaking.

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Labour didn't think reminding everyone of Enoch Powell's rivers of blood speech was enough, so are now reminding everyone of the literal Nazis stealing people's jewellery.

And you be fair the far right do seem to like it.

We need to obliterate them in the May locals.

My NHS employer has just confirmed redundancies are coming. For the second time in my 16 year NHS career tens of thousands of NHS staff, many with decades of experience will be thrown on the scrap heap. Many worked on the frontline (including me) in the pandemic. This is Streeting's reward for us.

One reason Labour has given that the SNP is a “threat to national security” is that Swinney recently stopped subsidising arms companies arming Israel. In other words, Labour has decided to double down on its place as the pro-genocide party: bylinetimes.com/2025/11/06/t...
'The SNP Isn't a Threat to the Security of Any Nation I Want to Be Part Of'
Labour's attempts to brand the Scottish National Party a threat to the UK’s national security is a drastic escalation of Labour’s anti-independence rhetoric, argues Adam Ramsay

The "why do you care so much about the NY mayoral election" takes strike me as pretty obtuse. The world's sole superpower is being taken over by fascists, and this was part of the struggle to define what the opposition to that will look like. That obviously has major implications for all of us?

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

Part of why so many genteel pensioners are getting arrested for supporting a proscribed group is because they can afford to be arrested. It’s not just that it’s bad optics to arrest retired vicars or whatever. Lots of those who feel strongest would be at much higher risk and face worse consequences

Günther Thallinger, a board member at Allianz, one of the world's biggest insurers, says the climate crisis could make adaptation economically unviable.
