In 1979, Jimmy Carter installed solar panels on the White House. In 1986, Ronald Reagan tore them down along w/Carter’s clean energy funding.

This sums up the difference between the two men & political parties. Investing in solutions for the future vs canceling progress to score political points.

I was in a store yesterday and a woman collapsed and hit her head on a shelf, cutting her head open. We stopped the bleeding while the clerk called 911. When the ambulance showed up, the woman didn’t want to go to the hospital at first bc she was worried about the cost. Picture unrelated.

I've thought about it, and I've come to the conclusion that if the Nether Update, one of Minecraft's biggest updates, came out at this point, people would be complaining. A lot.

Spending a month on Bluesky has created a whole new model of a fight we need to be having right now. Not liberal vs. conservative or whatever, but respect vs manipulation.

I am tired of being manipulated everywhere I go. That’s why I like it here, I feel like I’m in charge for once.

It’s so weird that people keep doing this experiment and getting the same results.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

It's kind of wild how we learned that multiple companies took advantage of a global pandemic to artificially inflate the price of basic food staples like eggs and potatoes and it resulted in almost no visible public outrage. Like in different times peasants violently revolted over less
