Everyone knows what it means when a corrupt slumlord says something will be done in a couple weeks.
Breaking: The Trump administration announces that they will not be complying with today’s deadline to release the full Epstein Files.

They insist the files will be released in the next “couple weeks.”

These people talk big but don’t truly understand service or patriotism.
Recently retired FedGov here: we're tired of working our asses off trying to protect people only to get slandered by politicians and trolls. We just want to do our fucking jobs, regardless of party in charge. The private sector pays more w/ fewer responsibilities yet we serve. FedGov are patriots.

One bit of solace I have is that Musk will never say, write, think, communicate, or post anything even remotely within the realm of being funny. Never. Not a single time. And it eats at him every day.

RFK Jr. keeps repeating this ridiculous, ignorant bullshit.

Trust in expertise is literally a vital feature of both science and of representative democracy.

I wrote a whole-ass thread about it last time around; maybe worth revisiting.

RFK Jr: We need to stop trusting the experts... Trusting the experts is not a feature of science or democracy, it's a feature of religion and totalitarianism.

@skepchick.org Hello, Rebecca. I’ve been a listener since the Skeptics Guide days. The RIF actions at the CDC has been getting some press but I don’t think enough people are talking about how the Office of Science was included, which includes the research library.

I’m really worried that they’ll start encouraging measles parties like parents of Gen-X did for chicken pox and we’ll never know the negative impact because the people and publications who did disease surveillance are gone. #measles

Furlough day 14, post-RIF 4: I keep thinking about quarantine and how I went online from 7-3:30 every weekday to find something to work on to make my agency better. No slacking off. I felt better when I was productive, even if not directed to or noticed. Whar a slap in the face. #governmentshutdown

I can't get over how the CDC layoffs are coming less than two months after the attempted mass shooting. The agency is being taken apart brick by brick. The public servants there do not deserve this.

A note this is basically 10% of cdc.
Per CDC source: At internal leadership meeting this afternoon, it was shared that 1,257 people were RIF'd at CDC. Number may not be final. Apparently, chief of staff was unaware that RIFs were going to occur so not clear who is making decisions. (Short 🧵)
