Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

Benefits of #ventilation in sickness & health have been known for over a century. It’s wonderful to see the country’s second largest hospital promoting it here, together with science-based infection prevention & control.

Can a university follow suit?

It breaks my heart to share these, but I have to.

My cats who caught bird flu did NOT have any sneezing, no nasal discharge, or symptoms I'd associate with the flu.

Gandalf had a fever, loss of appetite, and then this weakness of hind limbs, which progressed rapidly.

This is a neuro symptom.

The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.

Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.

Finally, some media coverage in Australia on the mass mortality of corals on the Great Barrier Reef in 2024.

People with chronic illness have been doing PSAs informally for five years now anyway, but now that public health comms are formally suspended, I guess it’s really just us??

So yeah, pass it on—important thing to watch for if you’ve been sick recently.

i've given two colleagues with recent Covid infections warnings about PEM ("if you feel abnormally tired or sick after exertion – not just a normal amount of tired after exercise, but something that stands out") and both have told me that they have noticed it

When I say that COVID is a huge unacknowledged part of our current political landscape, this is what I mean. Every single powerful US institution spent the last four years *actively* convincing people that public health doesn't matter and that if they just look out for themselves they'll be fine.
"Trump ordering CDC, FDA and NIH to stop providing public health updates"

If you’re dealing with Long Covid - there’s a chance you’re also dealing with MCAS and/or POTS/Dysautonomia.

They’re two of the most common comorbids - and can have a devastating impact on quality of life.

New allergies? Alcohol intolerance? Dizziness? Fatigue? Fainting?
