Good luck to the children speaking tonight at this #Lambeth council meeting. Children aged 0–9 are three times more likely to die from a collision when hit by an SUV. We need councils to introduce ways to curb the rise of bigger, heavier vehicles. #Carspreading

🚃TRAM NETWORK UPDATE🚃

Leeds is currently the largest city in Europe without a mass transit system.

But the Gov. has announced £2.1bn in funding for local transport in England, enabling ‪@mayorofwy.bsky.social‬ to fulfil her promise to build trams alongside taking back control of our buses. 🚌

Let me tell you the story of the most visible example of economic and political failure in modern Britain.

Leeds is the largest city in western Europe without a mass transit system, and we are all poorer because of it.

How did we get here? Why does it matter? And what can be done?

@ppushbike.bsky.social I find Komoot routes in London generally good. Not done this particular route but it's usually good. Those side streets South East of KGX are usually fine.

A very clear response from London Fire Commissioner, Andy Rowe to a question at Fire Plenary last week from Emma Best AM about the impact of LTNs on fire brigade attendance times.

"We genuinely couldn't find any evidence of LTNs doing anything to our overall attendance times".

If in doubt, just lie:

"Years before the success of Clarkson's Farm,
the presenter pondered over buying a farm
and wrote in The Times: 'Land is a better
investment than any bank can offer. The
Government doesn't get any of my money
when I die. And the price of the food that 1
grow can only go up."
“So it’s not about you, it’s not about your farm and the fact you bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax?”

@vicderbyshire.bsky.social speaks to Jeremy Clarkson at the farmers’ protest in Westminster where thousands of farmers are protesting the government’s inheritance tax plans.

So - it seems hidden in the budget, there have been some pretty big tax changes for pick-up trucks. It’s being portrayed as bad news for farmers, but removing tax breaks for large heavy vehicles also has benefits from r society at large.
