My assignments provide specific quotes from assigned readings and ask for reflection NOT description , and require citations of in-class sources. When in doubt about authenticity, I meet w/ Ss meet to have them explain what they meant in their work & I’m clear about not using AI to grade/check work
Okay #AcademicSky, #HistorySky, etc:

There's a lot of chatter abt how we're moving forward with assignments in the "Age of AI." Especially for those of us in writing disciplines.

I also want to hear what YOU'RE doing. Let's create a master resource thread-list here!

Some years ago I made a series of mini drawings of interesting Irish women called #MiniMná, gathered together here on a single print - each one comes with an information sheet featuring a short bio of the women featured, so you can learn about them, too.

Galway shawls were a type of heavy-weight shawl once worn by Irish women. Firmly believe we lost our way as a nation when we stopped wearing items that doubled as cosy blankets and would like to propose a return to the wearable bed.

Petit Préféré de nos Montagnes

Soft French 🐄🧀 in Reblochon style but pasteurized, with smear-ripened rind. Bread, honey and oak aroma. Mild buttery flavor with hazelnut, mushroom, something unusual (but pleasant): maybe eggy/ammonia? Rich, creamy, doughy, melts in the mouth.

St. Germain from Blakesville Creamery

Hard Wisconsin 🐐🧀 with natural rind. Atypical over-aged sample. Woods aroma. Strong, complex earthy and herbal flavor, musky and funky. Heavy, with some goatiness. Very lingering aftertaste. This wasn't what this is supposed to taste like, but suited me.

Beecher's Flagship Cheese

Semi-hard Washington 🐄 🧀 in cheddar-gruyere style. A bit crumbly, but can be sliced. Dense, rich, brown butter note, it finishes with a balance of sweetness and cheddar tang. Should melt well. A very nice snack cheese, I'd like to try the aged reserve version.

The “tired” you feel when chronically ill is very different than a healthy person’s version of “tired”.

A healthy person can take a nap and feel 100%.

They can have a coffee and perk up.

We are tired 24/7. Sleep doesn’t fix it. Rest doesn’t fix it. It’s soul destroying.

Harlech English Cheddar with Horseradish and Parsley

Semi-hard Welsh 🐄 🧀 with horseradish, which dominates, but isn't pungent. A young cheddar, the parsley is mostly color and texture. Moist inside the wax, it can be spread.i prefer "hot" horseradish, but this is flavorful and a nice change.
