Five years ago today, we named specific Coloradans who stoked election rigging claims and tried to overthrow the election.

“What those Coloradans did, leading up to today’s insurrection, is on them. Whether the rest of us on Colorado remember what they did, is on us.”

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?

BREAKING: Louisianans just rejected a ballot measure that would have paved the way for more children to be prosecuted as adults.

It lost by roughly 30%.

Here’s how a supporter had justified it: “Some of these kids are already lost when they’re two years old.” Context: boltsmag.org/louisiana-am...
“Some of These Kids Are Already Lost When They’re Two Years Old” - Bolts
Louisiana leaders want more leeway to charge kids as adults. A measure on the March 29 ballot would enable lawmakers to move more teenagers into the adult criminal system.

As of Friday, there have been 46 cases in which federal judges have blocked Trump policies.

The rulings in those cases have come from 39 different judges appointed by 5 different presidents (of both parties) to 11 different district courts across 7 different circuits.

Maybe it's not the judges?

This is how it's done.

A strong and principled response by WilmerHale to the illegal Executive Order attack - a form of attempted government intimidation declared unconstitutional by a federal judge.

This is how to guard the rule of law.

This Mother Jones article where the reporter goes undercover at a private prison has stuck with me for years

One the most remarkable things I’ve ever read
Private prisons are shrouded in secrecy. I took a job as a guard to get inside—then things got crazy
This is the biggest investigation we’ve ever published.

Yeah, and the Jena facility is bad. It's run by a private prison company so they slashed services to the bone, and there are tons of allegations of abuse and medical neglect. It's a bad place to be. It's also been that way for years.

I hope this opens peoples' eyes to these longstanding problems.
It really is in the middle of the middle of nowhere, far from any major population centre, several miles outside a small town centre. How can an eight-month pregnant spouse be expected to travel here to visit their loved one?

It might be “routine” but the cruelty is the point.

Tariffs do not protect American jobs. Tariffs are a tax on the American people. Every person will feel tariffs. If anything, it causes job loss.
If you’re doing that, you aren’t focused on the needs of the “business community,” you’re focused on the needs of the workers. Tariffs are about protecting American jobs, not lowering costs for company owners.
