I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

Another reason that using chat GPT is worse than simply not having a lawyer. If opposing counsel finds out you've been using chat gpt, they can request your logs and find out everything you've been saying. You get bad advice *and* you are creating discoverable evidence that can be used against you.

“High crimes” was a term of art referring broadly to abuse of power by people in high office. It obviously could not mean “federal statutory felonies” at the time the Constitution was ratified, when there weren’t any yet.
Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies.
They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.

Val Kilmer was a marvelous oddball who looked like a movie star. He had a tendency toward zaniness that was often misapplied by casting directors who wanted to treat him as a bland movie star when he wasn't. But when he was good, he was such a blast. Peak TV would have used him well. Pity. #RIP
