Rob Reiner was a genius. He brought joy to this world, and in decades to come, people will still be laughing, crying, and quoting along to his incredible oeuvre.

Donald Trump is a nobody. History will remember him as a villain and a nasty, dim-witted, unloved one at that.

There's your difference

Israel's cheerleaders are weaponising the horrific Bondi Beach antisemitic attack.

They intend to use this sickening atrocity to silence opposition to genocide.

But now is the time for moral clarity - to oppose violence against all civilians.

This is one reason that FGEN is more important than ever, Both of our co chairs @natacha.bsky.social and @parkesland.bsky.social were interviewed for this article. We've been quiet publically for the last few months, but we have been busy in the background more news in the new year.
The exclusion of trans people from public and academic spaces, removal of protections by human rights institutions, dehumanising language used by state news media, judicial tolerance of trans directed hate crime, withdrawal of medical care: all of this is very familiar to genocide scholars.

A muslim intervened in the last shooting in Australia, a muslim intervened in the latest shooting in Australia and a muslim intervened in the train attack in the UK.

Are these all coincidences?

Or is it that muslims are just people and sometimes heroes like everyone else?

Look, I absolutely detest Charlie Kirk and his appalling opinions, but I extend to him and his family all the courtesy that he has denied others and hope he recovers.

Shooting people in cold blood is bad. Always. Evil and bad. And none of us want to live in a world where that's celebrated.
