After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

We might be a bit quiet for a few days, as Momma G goes for a new hip tomorrow, and it's her phone that we use for our posts!
Here she is giving us a pre-operation carrot - don't worry, Taz had already had his!
We won't be away for long, you'll see! 👋😊

Each quilter stitched her name into her block. Like most traditional Nova Scotia quilts, the pattern you see here runs all the way to the edges – wide borders were seldom used.

In Nova Scotia, there is a long tradition of inviting people in the community to come together and make a quilt. This beautiful quilt, made around 1952 by the United Baptist Ladies Aid of Port Greville in Cumberland County, was sold to raise money for their church.

Stan Rogers became one of the most beloved Canadian musicians of the late-20th century.
His songs told the story of Canada, its culture, its people and its history.
Rogers was taken far too soon but his legacy endures.
This is his story.

I snatched this chart from @valent10francois. We see the social spending in France by age. Cutting entitlements? Usually reference is made about the orange slice (unemployment) or the green slice (family benefits). The blue retirement spending mustn’t be touched.

In Toronto, one of the most unique buildings is Casa Loma.
This castle-style mansion is over 100 years old and was built with secret passages, a bowling alley and an oven large enough to cook an entire ox.
This is the story of that historic building.
