It's never even occurred to me that people might think that we constantly talk about ADHD/autism just for attention. Like... if you discovered an explanation for everything you are and why you've struggled your whole life, why would you stop talking about it

Agreed. Let's not stoop to that level.
We don't need conspiracy theories about the election. We lost for a wide range of reasons, fair and unfair, local, national, and international--look at the wave of incumbents losing elections in the last years--and giving in to MAGA-style nonsense is very much NOT the solution.

I've been unmedicated at work for a long time. It helps to have an ADD-friendly gig. But today I need to write documentation. So I took an Adderall and then remembered why I go unmedicated: it made me want to take a nap and refusing that, I cleaned my desk instead. No docs have been written yet.

Hard agree. When I worked in the Senate, we tallied calls and emails for every issue. Even if we were opposed to an issue, we tracked trends and heightened interest in everything. Also, use constituent services. I’m a huge advocate for how your reps can help you.
BTW, the thing about calling your reps is that sometimes (often) they still don’t do what you want. It’s still important to do anyway. We talk about not complying in advance and about not going quietly. This is a small, low-effort way of not going along that also sometimes changes their votes.
