In my opinion it’s time to retire the Nobel prizes for fields where most of the important discoveries have already been made, like physics, and add prizes for newer fields where substantial innovations occur every year, like speedrunning

@kylierobison.com the contact email on kyliebytes.com might be wrong (byes instead of bytes)? I didn't try to send it to see if it worked or not.

Either way, loved your work at the verge and I'm excited to see what you write next.

I need to get back to posting things--anything, really--online, instead of just lurking. And I need to fix my blog so that's a good place to share longer form thoughts.

For now, I'll post about some of my gaming exploits here, starting with...

feels like we should be able to sign him to a reasonable extension that makes sense for both parties. shocked we haven't so far. don't think we have 2 other starting safeties on the roster.

In a shocking turn of events, many of the people who said they wanted "free speech" actually just wanted to be the ones in charge of which speech is free.
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

I'd like to go on record saying that... the Eagles will not be less successful at QB sneaks without designated pushers. Ban the play or not, but the OL leverage, scheme and QB strength are all there regardless.

Kinda wish the Eagles would just stop pushing to prove it. #FlyEaglesFly

My entire adult life, I spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning feverishly scribbling in heartfelt Christmas cards. Worried I'd forget someone, or write too-similar a message to two people.

This year, they were in the mail last week.

And now? Relief. Merry Christmas, all!

Really loved seeing my feelings on this put so clearly:

"We need to hack to find the design. We need to make a giant mess of code to make an actual plan. Making a giant mess then figuring out how to pick up the pieces might be the most efficient form of design out there."
Design docs tell. Hacking throwaway code shows.

One of the hardest engineering muscles to develop is to throwaway implementations. But if you get there, hacking throwaway, draft PRs works far more efficient than design docs as a "design" process.

Code speaks louder than design docs
If you have discipline to throw away your first idea, draft, throwaway PRs often drives more progress than a design doc.
