I trained as a chaplain with unhoused people in Atlanta several years ago. The memory of those 1 way tickets out of Atlanta to "clean up" for the Olympics were still strong. These clean ups that harm & kill people with no where else to go are wrong, both in Atlanta, here in Nashville 🦞 & everywhere.
Reading this, I’m reminded that, in the lead-up to the 1996 Olympics, Atlanta police pre-printed thousands of arrest citations with "homeless" and "African-American"—officers only had to fill in a name.
