Nah
New outlet, who dis! Another thanksgiving project this year was adding a hidden outlet for our lil robot vacuum Lightning McClean. I'm welcome to feedback on the wiring, I think I did it fairly well but I'm not a pro.

Been about 5 months, time for a new 3D printing post! Thanksgiving weekend brought us:

Venturi Blower Attachment!

I'm pretty excited about the result even if it's not "revolutionary" in the difference vs stock. Here's the spoiler, details below.

Double blog post: Grass! I have to share this absolutely dumbass story bc I think it's hilarious...

We bought a house recently and the backyard supposedly was seeded already but it was just straw laid out when we moved in. I watered it for a week or so but nothing really came up.

Alright it's been a while, blog post time! I went to the Soil Festival in ATL a few weeks ago and that shit was AWESOME! I got a random email about it from Food Well (awesome org) and it was probably the best went I've been to in years. Tickets were I think $25 which included so much...

New: We spoke to government IT employees/contractors about DOGE. Their warnings were dire. The people who maintain the systems that keep the country working are terrified. "This is the largest data breach and the largest IT security breach in our country’s history—at least that’s publicly known."

This seems pretty cool, I'll have to try this out at work. I'm not sure how will it'll apply but it seems generally like good writing practices.
I help researchers (and others) explicitly learn to write clearly. AI can't write (=think) for us. We need to think for ourselves and teach others how to as well.

Clear writing helps researchers in all fields.

Recently have been embarking on a quest to print out a filament container to keep it dry, store on the IKEA peg board, and have bearings and whatnot to swap out filaments inside it and run some tubing directly from it. It was also a test in embedding nuts into parts and printing large scale objects.

This Christmas I've #3dprinted these for my family and everyone so far has been quite thrilled with the results! Some were a huge pain since I used the "heart" ASCII character for mismatched lengths, and the bottom of the heart was essentially 1px wide... dual-letter-illusion.streamlit.app

My latest little project has been re-imagining my shop light that completely shattered yesterday morning. It's just a simple LED "florescent light" style shop light, about 3ft long. Has fit nicely under the shelf in my closet shop for a while now, and when I turned it on everything fell down...

I've started to get really excited whenever something breaks because that means I'll potentially be able to design and print a fix lol

After talking about things I'd like to design and make I finally caved and got a Bambu P1S and I'm quite thrilled so far. Not pumped about the waste, but excited to see what kinda things I can make with it instead of buying and shipping things.

Fun puzzle for thanksgiving! Loving the cozy vibes. Not doing anything big this year, just staying in and Elijah coming over after his long trip to Japan.
