Nah
We have an outlet under the sink in our island for the dishwasher and disposal on its own circuit, what better place to pull another outlet for this low-power vacuum? Pics tell most of the story. First time using the Wago connectors and they're great. Fully rated as well.

New outlet, who dis! Another thanksgiving project this year was adding a hidden outlet for our lil robot vacuum Lightning McClean. I'm welcome to feedback on the wiring, I think I did it fairly well but I'm not a pro.

I ended up making it a little too large so it's a hair loose, and I think that the final ID of the Venturi tube is too large, so I might tighten that up when I print one for my dad who has the same blower. Here's a bunch of pics of the thing. Before/after videos were... Meh. Can't really tell.

I forget what got me on the idea, but I couldn't find any non-generic Venturi 3d prints for my Greenworks 80V blower. Pulled up OnShape and started going crazy with the calipers on the existing "nozzle" that clips onto the end.

Been about 5 months, time for a new 3D printing post! Thanksgiving weekend brought us:

Venturi Blower Attachment!

I'm pretty excited about the result even if it's not "revolutionary" in the difference vs stock. Here's the spoiler, details below.

Oh I guess you can only attach 4 pics... Blue sky, you gotta warn me when I select 8!

Lo and behold, grass started to grow! Crazy what happens when you actually use seeds... But I'm absolutely obsessed with my little 1' x 5' patch of thick grass. Pics attached of the progress over about a month! 😁 #grass #barfgrass #toiletpapergrass #dumbass

Compost when started and about a week in. I rotated it too early but it's back to 110 or so, so I'm still happy.

This Christmas I've #3dprinted these for my family and everyone so far has been quite thrilled with the results! Some were a huge pain since I used the "heart" ASCII character for mismatched lengths, and the bottom of the heart was essentially 1px wide... dual-letter-illusion.streamlit.app

Forgot to post a final update! Got everything fixed up and clean, not perfect but I'm pretty happy with it. Not super happy with the loose wires but I like that it can be flexible and moved later.i might break the other one and see if I can link everything together once we have a house!

Here's basically the final result, I still have some work to do to tidy the wires and hang the switch/power supply box. Duct tape was the obvious choice here, can't beat it.

After extending the wires and test fitting everything I made some final adjustments and printed out a full size clip holder thing. Bonus pic of the broken Christmas lights that I salvaged a bunch of wire from to reuse. Full pic shows basically the whole project.

I thought about soldering the wires, and that definitely would make for better connections but I don't have any vent or smoke hood thing so I try to avoid soldering if I can. Did shrink wrap the connectors nicely though! I do like the crimping tool I got a while ago, very easy.

I mocked up a few test pieces to figure out what my tolerances were since I don't quite know yet exactly how the 3D printer handles dimensions... You can see on the detail pic (3) the first layer isn't as precise as the rest. The woes of designing a 1mm notch to hold a piece.

Gonna dump a bunch of progress pics here and try to explain as I go... This is what broke and the internals as well as my sketches of the door moulding. My idea was to reposition the strips above the door so they don't blind me and shine down more into the work area.

What about adjusting the image sizes for mobile devices?

Didn't realize I didn't post a real final photo!

Turned out well! Now to find a misc screw to drill into the oven metal...

Already excited about fixing our oven drawer that has been hanging kinda sideways and scraping for years! Feels good to flex the old 3D modeling skills I learned like seven (?!) years ago!

After talking about things I'd like to design and make I finally caved and got a Bambu P1S and I'm quite thrilled so far. Not pumped about the waste, but excited to see what kinda things I can make with it instead of buying and shipping things.

I have to share my excitement for finally using cardboard I've hoarded to build a makeshift "white background" for the glass table so we can see the pieces easier. This is bad news for me not hoarding things in the future...
