2.977 people died on 9/11.
The daily quote for ICE is 3000.
I think putting it in terms like that puts it into perspective.
They want one 9/11 every day.

For kids with complex health issues, Medicaid is the difference between staying with family and being forced into a nursing home as a child.

Private insurance doesn't want to cover home care. Medicaid has to.
I wish journalists would stop framing political news as wins or losses for politicians or political parties. It’s an abrogation of our mission. Why do we keep doing this? Is the spending bill a win or loss for the American people? Who does it help? Who does it hurt? Is it sound policy? Fiscally?

Two. Hundred. Billion.
Prices are rising nationwide and Trump’s gaslighting everyone about why. His tariffs and failed policies are driving costs up. He’s spent $200 billion more in his first 100 days than the same period last year, delivering less to Americans at a greater cost.

Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume?
Premodern Gender Historian: Almost all surviving sources about that period are from elite men. I certainly was doing work then but it was not considered important or relevant by the chroniclers or may have been in perishable foods or textiles.
Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume.

Classicist: why yes, that was the age of gold, when folks free from care lived out their lives in gentle leisure. The earth too was free from harm, not touched by a rake nor wounded by any plows, but gave everything of her own accord.
Interviewer: Can you explain this gap in your resume?

Egyptologist: why yes, that’s the Fourth Intermediate Period, when I labored without Ma’at…

THE PENTAGON BUDGET JUST HIT A TRILLION DOLLARS.

Not a single pundit from either political party said “how are we going to pay for it?!”

Don’t dare tell us we cannot ALL have healthcare, housing, and education.

While planning to gut Medicaid and SNAP to pay for more tax cuts for the rich, Republicans are pushing to give the Pentagon an additional $150 billion in funding.

Trump has already promised a record $1 trillion military budget.

Their priorities couldn’t be more clear.

Donald Trump is torturing people on US soil.
At the Miami Krome ICE prison, detainees are held 16 hours with “tight chains around their wrists, chests, and hips on buses outside the facilities without water, food, or access to bathrooms. Guards instructed them to urinate or defecate inside the buses.”

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but any govt official who violates someone's constitutional rights -- and is acting outside the scope of their lawful authority -- can be PERSONALLY liable in a civil suit.

ICE officers. Cabinet members. White House staffers. Even the president.

If you think you can't make a political issue out of "people shouldn't be grabbed off the street and put in a foreign gulag forever," maybe consider getting out of politics/punditry. And these aren't technical slogans: they appear in the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution (twice).
