I wrote a book about Hope, specifically our hope of seeing Jesus face to face when he returns.

Here’s a thread I’ve put together about the book—a website, a preview of the video series, an interview with CT, and a few sermons.

May this nurture your love of Jesus’ appearing!

I had my first taste of tailgating this week. Here’s what I learned:

1. Community is not dead
2. Shared allegiances create shortcuts for connection
3. Imagination flows from immersion

I asked my wife if she wanted to watch the new season of The Chosen now on Prime or wait until we can watch it ad-free on the app.

She said she’d like to wait because “I prefer Jesus without the commercials.”

And that feels like an entire word for American evangelicalism.

Watching Akira Kurosawa‘s High and Low for the first time. I honestly thought it was going to be a movie about a doctrinaire shoe manufacturer.

My 18 year olds are particularly affected by Charlie Kirk’s murder and all I can say to them is “We must fight with ideas and words, not guns and bullets.”

In an abusive system there is no safe place, no binding of wounds or healing for a broken heart. Power is used in God’s name to protect the system rather than the victim. Power is used to oppress and protect the manmade structure rather than the people they are called to lead.

This week I heard for the first time a line that makes so much sense: “When you’re looking at everything through rose-colored glasses, red flags are invisible.”

“Pray that the evangelical support he will care about most is that of the evangel, the message of first importance: “that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised…and that he appeared” (1 Cor. 15:3-5).”
