This makes facially neutral policies--like poll taxes and literacy tests--that we know were adopted for discriminatory purposes legal. Organizations can now simply claim there was no discriminatory intent regardless of outcome. It's unconstrained institutionalized racism.

I just don’t really know what you do about having a genuine psychopath as President man.
Trump doubles down on his Rob Reiner attack: "I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person... He became like a deranged person, Trump Derangement Syndrome. So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape or form. I thought he was very bad for our country."

This is so gross. Anyone who has lived in Minnesota (Minneapolis/St. Paul specifically) will tell you that the Somali population there is among the kindest and hardest-working people you'll ever meet.

And, if you're wondering, the "focus" on Epstein was because Mike Johnson finally allowed Rep. Adelita Grijalva to take office. Every person paying even minimal attention to national media during the shutdown knew that there was going to be a "focus" on Epstein when Johnson gaveled in.

They're running from it now. But the fact that Senate Republicans tried to give 10 of their colleagues at least $1 million each for nothing but a bogus press op captures the corruption of Trump II. In no other environment wld this even occur to the most corrupt politicians.

I know it's all so stupid, but this isn't why it's DoD. Army/War and Navy being separate was outdated and impractical, needed to unify. "Defense" as a common name for that started w/ "Minister of Defence" in the UK, created for the same reason by notoriously woke war-loser Winston Churchill.
Trump: "We have officially renamed the Dept of Defense back to the original name, Dept of War. And remember we won World War 1, we won World War 2, we won everything in between. We won everything that came before. And then we brilliantly decided to change the name. We became politically correct"

Getting Republicans to vote for this assertion of legislative prerogative is great, but also disappointing because the same thing can be done on rescissions, withholding of funds, and a dozen other things. Congress has power that they are only using in fleeting ways.
The RIFs language is actually great. Not only does it rehire the people RIFed during the shutdown, it makes it an unequivocal Antideficiency Act violation to do ANY MORE RIFs through the duration of the CR (Jan 30)

Completely stops Trump/Vought Phase 2 for now

Because Donald Trump is terrible and everybody knows it!
This isn't that hard, the guy has lost every election ever held with him in power.
The strong consensus of observers, random people in both states, journalists, and pollsters was that Spanberger was running a strong race against a bad candidate and Sherrill was running a lackluster race against a pretty good candidate, but the results don’t really seem to bear that out so much.
