Sitting here thinking about Isabel Fall, author of "Helicopter Story." I truly, genuinely hope she was eventually able to find SOME way to be a version of her genuine trans self. Maybe she's living offline or calling herself a different name... IDK. We failed her and I'm still angry about it.

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

I had my first rough encounter with transphobes in the wild yesterday; four macho guys outside of a little Cuban bakery. Got a mix of hostile jeers and laughs from all of them, and one of them called me a puto, which is more-or-less "faggot" in Spanish (technically the masculine word for whore).

I see people respond to stuff like this with 'so you put your community's rights above all others???' type attempts to rebut and, uh, yea. Like, yea, that's not even a question? The safety of my community is issue one, if you're sacrificing that we are not together.
when people say 'purity tests' and 'big tent' and shit all I hear is 'we gotta throw SOME minorities under the bus, at least', and being trans and all I, uh, am aware of how close to the curb I am in these freaks' brains!
