I really, really strongly encourage you to watch Aaron's clips of the Trump-Mamdani meeting, not just read his recaps.

This is a totally different Trump than we ever normally see. It's wild to see him like this—and Mamdani is the one who brought it out in him. There's a lesson here.
Q: would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani administration ?

TRUMP: I would. I really would.

My left cred maybe not looking so hot on this post but if some photo ops are what it takes to avoid more intense NYC ICE raids then so be it
Mamdani is looking solemn as Trump compliments him and his mayoral victory—not trying to look chummy with Trump

New members of Congress understand tech in ways their predecessors often don't, and now they’re driving new bills on online safety, privacy, AI, and more. But without a centralized tech committee, needed regulations can through the cracks. bit.ly/3K76Pjr

Another evidence that Trump and Miller's mass deportation machine wasn't about holding criminals accountable, but to deport anyone they deemed not American. Period.
NEW: ICE has finally released post-shutdown detention data. The latest data reveals that a full 40%(!) of people arrested in the interior and held in ICE detention have no criminal record; no criminal charges or prior convictions. That is up from just 4% when Trump took office.

The irony here is that the growing number of Democratic retirements has to be seen as good news for Democrats, who are eager to infuse new blood into the party.

The growing number of *GOP* retirements almost certainly spells bad news for the GOP, as Republicans head for the exits.
With Nydia Velázquez graciously making way for a new generation, both Democrats and Republicans continue on a record-setting pace for open House seats in 2026.

VARNEY: This deal in my opinion would be a win for Putin. You happy with that?

MARKWAYNE MULLIN: It's a win for both. Kyiv was never gonna be able to put back into Ukraine -- not Kyiv, but uh, uh, uh, my mind has slipped me

V: Crimea

M: Crimea. They kind of see themselves as more Russian anyways

Today, Supreme Court justices discuss in private whether to take up cases on Trump's bid to curtail birthright citizenship -- on the merits this time.

Probably won't be any immediate action, but seems likely the court will hear the cases this term with a ruling by the end of June.

What kind of strategic benefit this kind of communication offer to Dems - to get curbstomped by Musk on his own platform? h/t @brianbeutler.bsky.social

To be clear: I’m not being hyperbolic when I call Trump’s auto-invasions “fascist.”

This admin uses the pretext of an imaginary wave of mass migration (“invasion”) to declare a state of emergency & protect the volk from the enemy.

Or, as I wrote in my political theory thesis earlier this year:

Coast Guard isin the Department of Homeland Security

So DHS is doing this, which means Stephen Miller -- de facto DHS Secretary (in addition to being acting President)

Tho we may see Noem wearing some of these symbols in her photo ops
"The Coast Guard will no longer classify the swastika as a hate symbol.

"Instead, the Coast Guard will classify the Nazi insignia as 'potentially divisive' under its new guidelines.

"The new policy similarly downgrades the definition of nooses and the Confederate flag."

The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

In #VI02 Rep. Elaine Luria is the current favorite to be the Democratic contender.

In #NJ07 Rebecca Bennett and Tina Shah are the Democratic front-runners based on fundraising.
