hard to think of a better example of "you may not believe in class war, but billionaires know they're in one" than this
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

If you live in Forest Grove, please for the love of God run against Susan McClane.
In a statement to BikePortland this morning, Councilor Mitch Green called a bill in the legislature that aims to preempt local regulation of robotaxis, "appalling."

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

That goes for what’s happened in Palestine as well. The surveillance technology they tested on Palestinians is now being used against us at home. The imperial boomerang always comes back. The war always comes home.

Strategic masterminds, the OR Democrats, think cutting safety funding for kids trying to get to school is the way to solve our transportation budget woes. Actually, the OPPOSITE is true: red or blue, urban or rural, safety for kids and families around schools is a TOP PRIORITY and BASIC NEED.
URGENT ACTION ALERT: We've just heard some alarming news that Governor Kotek and the Joint Transportation Committee (made up of lawmakers from both parties in Oregon's legislature) are considering taking funds from the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) to fill other gaps in ODOT's budget.

Positively shocked that the house magazine of the Manhattan Institute is upset that my book refuses to attribute America's record-high homelessness to "personal choices"—rather than, say, rents outpacing income gains by 325 percent since 1985.
