Is there a news source that offers reliable on-the-ground reporting on Venezuela? (I can make my way through written articles in Spanish reasonably well, but video/audio mediums aren’t super accessible to me)

Hey Maria, we elected you to maybe offer a little bit of leadership and at least suggest an answer to questions like these. Step up or step aside.
President Trump’s actions today with Venezuela raise more questions than answers. Is America going to be involved in running and stabilizing Venezuela? Today's actions raise many questions about the stability of the region and our policy towards South America.

If Maduro is going to be tried in federal civilian court, does he get all the same attendant rights? Do we think someone read him his Miranda rights? Do we think they’re going to avoid questioning him for the whole boat ride to New York/wherever? Or allow a defence atty to board the vessel?

Leftists will say they’re tolerant but then attack a neurodivergent (dementia) person of colour (orange) for the simple act of triggering an illegal war of regime change

This should get you expelled from the Democratic party
My statement on the capture of the brutal, illegitimate ruler of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and need for a transition to democracy:

Holding the Winter Classic in Miami is the US’s version of the Tower of Babel. We will be punished for our arrogance and hubris.

I've seen enough. I'm officially calling the race for Mayor of Seattle for Katie Wilson.

Trump take efficient usage of federal science grant money.

Using the rest of my PhD program to invent a time machine to go back to high school to take the SAT to get a tenure track job. They will weigh the SAT score more heavily than the fact I invented a time machine.
This article advocates for the “Faculty Merit Act” that would — get this — require all faculty applicants to submit their *SAT* scores. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Holy shirts that’s hilarious.

One just has to hope this media team doesn’t turn evil, let we get years of superficially aesthetically pleasing fascism
This man's media team is a bunch of goddamned geniuses, someone scouted for locations and figured out they could set up this very shot. Look at it, it's incredible. Look up pics of Adams being sworn in at the ball drop, which look chaotic, cheap, and undignified in comparison.
New York City has a new mayor

Day 1 in @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social’s Seattle: the sun has disappeared. The buildings are shrouded in a mist that one can only assume is the joint spiritual force of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin. Impossible to tell what woke spectres lie around the bend. There is no way out but through.

I think my one and only 2026 prediction is that the immortal-boner-tracking-tech-guy dies of a medieval disease, leading JD Vance to spread conspiracy theories about who killed him

Yes the Christianity on display should have been less audience-captured and compelling, you know, like evangelicalism.

this is a good illustration of how much the particular pathologies of the people in charge matter even if the forces pushing them don’t rely on individuals

donald trump has been evil don quixote for years, hating windmills is one of his most deeply held beliefs, so we don’t get to have wind power
Burgum: "Today we're sending notifications to the 5 large offshore wind projects that are under construction that their leases will be suspended due to national security concerns ... the Dept of War has come back conclusively that these large offshore wind programs create radar interference"

Again, I truly *loved* this week’s episode of Heated Rivalry, but IT IS A WISH FULFILLMENT ROMANCE. The success of a gay hockey romance TV show, largely watched by people who are neither hockey players nor hockey fans, is not “proof that the world is ready and all we would do is love you”

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

I really miss “Jesus is the reason for the season” as a conservative Christmas take

This is a particularly egregious example of how “debate” media is so awful. Any reasonable debate on this question would take up at least the full hour just trying to define terms in the question.
What kind of feminism? As desc’d by whom?
Failed in what way? How do you balance failures/benefits?
etc
"Has feminism failed women brought to you by bank of america" is my MKULTRA sleeper agent activation phrase

they’re calling it the worst hour of television ever produced
Oh wait: "...Steven Pinker and Ross Douthat to debate the God question..."

Well that's certainly...something.
wait there's a religion version

Playing around with some GIS stuff, and it's pretty wild to see just how much of WA is unincorporated.
