there's been something I've had to tell myself a lot lately so I figured I might as well tell it to everybody else too. also this is the first one of these that I've narrated, in case you're curious what my voice sounds like.
probably the two most famous were there at the same time as me: former Cubs and A's reliever Michael Wuertz, and John Maus, the guy who makes incredibly grating synth music and participated in the Jan 6th insurrection
Who's the most famous alum of your high school?

I'll go first: David Draiman of Disturbed
guys i just found out i went to the same high school as howard lutnick. please respect my privacy at this time.

it's been difficult to reduce the size of my beer gut; today I had the idea that maybe I could balance things out by trying to make my pecs bigger and then immediately had a sudden flash of understanding as to why so many middle aged gym guys Look Like That

also another thing about bars. idk how many of you play pool in bars. but have you noticed how everybody loves to crank that chalk on the cue. blue dust flying. but when you go to pick out a cue off the rack they all look like they've never been chalked ever. how does that work.
they should invent a place to stand in a bar that's not in the way

loot does not drop upon defeating me. the developers didn't expect anyone to attack me, i am so vulnerable, and only trying to help. why did you raise your sword? for material gain? i would give you anything i have if you had only asked. i did not ask to be in this game, i did not ask to have 6hp.

I used to go to a mostly music/some comedy open mic where a guy tried this for a while. "you can do music covers why not comedy covers" is what he said. he did a lot of mitch hedberg. it was painful. I think he might've not had the part of the soul that makes a person feel embarrassed.
This is barely an idea but I keep thinking about a comedy cover act who only performs in bars and just tells other peoples’ jokes

Here’s what I think we should do with the concentration camps. Ready?
Let every detainee out. Give all of them citizenship and reparations with no strings attached. Dismantle the facilities brick by brick. Never open another one ever again.

a couple years before the actual bad shit about Ryan Adams became known I read an interview where he said he doesn't really care about the drum sounds on his album, doesn't think it's important, thinks drum tracking is boring. I couldn't respect him as a musician after that.
It wasn't a hard drop as such because once I read about it all it was instantly obvious that he was a monster and I dropped him in a milisecond and never regretted it, but I did love me some Ryan Adams music before all that. bsky.app/profile/marq...
Question for the Skyline: What was your HARDEST "cancel"?? Like the actor/singer/athlete that was the hardest to drop.

I feel like it's always people I don't fw getting canceled so it's never really a loss.

The hardest one was maybe TI because I actually liked multiple albums by him.

it's been about a week of extra-frigid weather here. it feels like six months. last summer seems so long ago that I was still young then. every single one of my problems will be solved when the thermometer hits 20 on sunday.

the democrats can't give in to public pressure and fight hard to abolish ICE because then they'll have to do the same thing the next time there's a massively popular policy that would help people and make the country better. gotta keep those expectations low.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

As Trump scrambles to contain the damage from the latest ICE horrors, Senator Chris Murphy offers a sharp indictment of Trump-ICE lawlessness—and explains how Dems can meet the urgency of the moment.

Democrat leadership and liberal media know nothing but be transphobic, bomb Gaza, act as middleman to tech companies, eat shit and lie.
lol but [serious voice now] these fuckers are gonna try to jump in front of all the work the left and regular people have done and try to set up a tollbooth and it’s important that we invite them all to enjoy an unseasoned bowl of turds.
I got fooled by someone who is famous for being a conman until it was too late. Here’s why that’s actually smarter than seeing it coming:

ig reels just showed me a bunch of stuff from creators I've never seen before talking about how it's time for real leftists to arm themselves, take back the 2nd amendment, fight fire with fire etc. I don't normally give much credence to "feds control the algo" conspiracy theories but this was weird.

I have spent my entire adult life being lectured by Republican politicians and conservative legal movement types about how important it is to preserve the sacred constitutional right to self-defense of *specifically this person* and then secret police murdered him in the street
Minneapolis police chief Brian O'Hara says that the victim was a 37-year-old white man and US citizen with no criminal record and that he was a legally permitted gun owner.
