salvaged a late 1800s-early 1900s door on which someone wrote "boys please keep out" in old-timey (palmer script?) handwriting
this door would normally be in too rough of condition to save but because of the writing I can't quite bring myself to dumpster it

When Ugueth Urbina was the Marlins' closer, he and Pudge Rodriguez kissed on the lips after every save. I don't think their teammates participated though. They won the 2003 World Series together but later Urbina was convicted of Bad Crimes :(

In 1981 a student at the University of Wisconsin wrote a postcard to his buddies about his adventures in Tijuana and LA. Yesterday my boss found the postcard while we were salvaging some parts of the house they lived in, which is about to be torn down. Full text in the alt.

been getting really into this screwdriver at work lately. had it in the drawer for years without much use but suddenly it's the right tool for the job at least once a day. just goes to show you never know what's around the next corner in this crazy thing called Life.

kinda sad about having to get rid of this perfect little dutchman* in this piece of reclaimed maple floor. I hope whoever made it would appreciate that I gave some folks on the internet a chance to admire it before I put it in the firewood bin.
