Shout out to folks transporting large items on public transit. Gotta be one of my favorite uses of public transit.

“The strategy here is to make us afraid. The response from Chicago is a bunch of obscenities and ‘no,’” said Anna Zolkowski Sobor, whose North Side neighborhood saw agents throw tear gas and tackle an elderly man. “We are all Chicagoans who deserve to be here. Leave us alone.”

I'm so proud of everyone from my old neighborhood of Rogers Park in Chicago. I see what you have been and are doing. I am so proud of how organized the community is and how much more so everyone is becoming. It is inspiring. Just one example... And this is something EVERYONE can do. Everyone.

I’m out, I'm sore. I'll have more later, but right now I have to say a couple of things. First, walking out of there to learn about the kindness, support, and quick action from so many of you all has meant the world to me, my wife, and co-founder, Raven. Thank you.

You turn off autoplay by going into your Settings > Content & Media and then unchecking the Autoplay videos and GIFS box.

You carefully consider Hot Takes by not posting them and instead seeking out actual news.

And you provide links, and, if needed, content warnings.
I can tell Bluesky has The Juice (tm) because I saw several posts about turning off autoplay and carefully considering Hot Takes before I found the actual news. Thanks y’all.

That's a great idea! Works in Chicago, and many of our suburbs!
Reminder: you can ask your local library to stock this book! Many library systems have forms to do so on their websites. Great way to help out authors and, in this case, to spread the word on car-free access to the outdoors!

I love this article about replacing your lawn with native plants, but I do take issue with one thing: that it could cost thousands of dollars to replace your lawn.

You can do it yourself for way, way less. Cheap as free, even.
Hate mowing and endless watering? Rip out your lawn and replace it with something more wild
Native landscaping requires minimal maintenance, benefits the environment and, with a bit of acceptance, can be a thing of beauty.
