If I was the commander in chief of the Imperial hegemon I would simply not dismantle the network of military and diplomatic alliances, favourable trade deals, and broad cultural paramountcy that had made my nation the most wealthy and powerful the world has ever seen.

Republicans forced the Bureau of Land Management to put over 20,000 acres of public land in Colorado up for auction at the discount price of $10/acre with reduced royalty rates for oil and gas drilling.

No one bid for it because demand for oil is crashing though. 🔌💡

Bureau of Land Management oil and gas auction gets zero bids in Colorado
The Trump administration wants to expand drilling on public lands, but oil and gas developers expressed zero interest in Thursday’s sale.

I personally want this man to fear for his life for as long as he has one!
This is the agent that murdered the woman in Minneapolis on 1/7/2026.

I think this will be the case for quite a while, but given stabilizing (or even shrinking) population and the amount of time in a day, I do think there's a ceiling for how much power people could even conceivably use in the future. Eventually most battery materials will be from recycled batteries.

The writing in the last season was worse than usual but overall I think they landed the ship fine, especially for a show that never really planned very far ahead

You should be embarrassed to be a member of congress and issuing anything other than impeachment resolutions. You're in the model UN. They should give you legos and a propeller hat

Kidnapping the leader of a foreign state without any declaration of war and announcing it via social media is full-on rogue state stuff. From the world’s number one superpower.

I just moved from one city (18 minute commute on bike) to another city (22 minute commute on bus). Yes they're expensive, but they also pay better. Society and ecology would be improved in almost every way if more people were in cities.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Some of the best scientific and informational content on the entire internet is on YouTube, I personally would describe it as a huge mistake not to use it.

so the existence of this letter has, actually, been written about before - the question is whether it’s authentic or not

because, uh

“I killed myself and Trump is also a pedophile” is pretty clear if so
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Folks seem really into this but it just clearly looks like forks to me. Have to really force myself to invert the picture.
Ok, this is nuts. Once you see it you cannot unsee it. Do you see it?

I can't recall a year where it felt adequately 'staffed' with judges, students in our group would regularly only get half the feedback they were supposed to. I don't know if that's why it was dropped, but it's felt unsustainable for years.
