RIP Joe Ely. As a fan of the Clash back in the late seventies I kept hearing about a Texas musician they adored. I'm not sure whether you'd call it rock or country or roots or Americana, but for over 40 years Joe Ely made some of the best American music out there.

Northern New England has the habitat to support a breeding population of mountain lion, but I can't imagine a reintroduction project overcoming the opposition it would face. I would love to see it happen though.
