My colleague Liz Dunphy has been covering the arson attack on sleeping families in Drogheda on Halloween night.

But what happened in the area before the attack? And what has the response been? All this and more on today's podcast.

They just gutted Teen Vogue which had top notch political journalism. The media is continuing to purge any sort of political dissent to Trump and the oligarchs.

Something politicians here in Ireland would do well to remember right now.
I really am just working from the basic premise of political science that public opinion isn’t just measurable — you can and should CREATE it.
This never stops being true, but I’m not sure Ds have ever, at least in my lifetime, learned to apply it for good. *Creating* public opinion either never occurs to them, or if it does, offends their sensibilities? It’s exasperating

A lot of the spoiled ballots I saw while tallying were very explicitly and forcibly racist. When the talking heads from Iona and Aontú say that FF and FG need to court their votes, that is who they are talking about.
The girls at the count centre were laughing at all your pathetic spoiled ballots, btw.

Catherine Connolly got more votes than any other president in history - any pol corr or commentator trying to convince you that the story is actually the spoiled votes is showing you their whole arse, and should be treated accordingly.

The Corlea Trackway • Longford

This 2km ancient routeway was discovered beautifully preserved in the bog.
It was dated to c.148 BC.

A section of the trackway from Cloonbreany Townland was excavated and conserved, and is now on display in the Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre.

Since then, her beloved grandmother has died because they couldn't get the medications she needed.

Now Reham and her other family members have been forced to flee her home - here is her update:

Why is RTÉ referring to Maria Steen as a "family rights campaigner"?

Maria Steen, as a member of the self-styled Iona "Institute", has campaigned against every hard-won right we have today.

Every single interview with a person who has decided to get some publicity by claiming they will run for Irish president should start with this question:

What exactly are the powers and constitutionally mandated role of the presidency?

Credit to the BBC’s Jeremy Bowen.

Defying the Israeli ban on filming Gaza from above, Bowen instead describes the carnage & genocide he can see:

“I can tell you that communities in the north of Gaza that I knew well…with tens of thousands of people…are flat. There’s nothing left of them.”

All famines are man-made, all famines are political. Historians of empire and humanitarianism have known this forever. Gaza is not starving, Gaza is being starved, by Israel, and this starvation is enabled by our government and by every other government that does not step in to force food and aid.
