just something ive been chewing on but its pretty sobering that if you want your game to get any significant amount of attention/wishlists/whatever you need to have a big youtuber or twitch streamer cover it

one of the great and terrible coups of the sociological production of the end of the pandemic was the line "you can't force people to mask." actually, people mostly do what they're told. that we've totally given up on shaping public behavior is nonsense. ask people to mask at a show, and most will!

i frequently feel shut out from a lot of in-person culture because of how thoroughly the public has been propagandized into pretending that they are anything other than temporarily able-bodied. but mask-required events are incredibly popular! nobody likes getting sick!!!

What actors in the industry can do to alleviate the ongoing employment crisis is just find better ways to reinvest the success that does happen. Indies that 10x or 100x their investment on a breakout hit opting to start funds or go into publishing is a positive development here.

Julie's notes for 1000xRESIST were spot on and helped us make the game better at such an important time!
Hey! I'm Julie! Writer, consultant, designer. If you need a writer for a project, or a consultant to take a look at a game, I am open for contract work! Let me know. I've worked on titles like Silent Hill 2 Remake, Signalis, and 1000xResist, and I made one of Paste's favorite games of 2024.

all this to say: i cannot in any way talk about plot-related details aside from "please look forward to it" for obvious reasons, but if you ask me random errata about characters you've already met, we can talk
all i can think about is working on blanksword rn and it's a curse because i can barely bug any of you people about it aside from oblique nothings like "have you considered the angel of waste disposal today"

Ok. Well done. That's all I can teach you. I hear there are other posters that can teach you more advanced techniques out there, but you'll have to find them yourself. Good luck!

i know we're not supposed to stereotype, but the truth is i have never met a giant baby eating spider from space who _wasn't_ a homophobe.

Stephen King villains are a very funny outcome of Writing What You Know because they're so clearly based on assholes he's met in real life, even if that doesn't necessarily make sense in context, so you get shit like the giant baby-eating spider from space inexplicably being an outspoken homophobe.
