Here's a little about this account:
One of my core values is being kind
Not a doormat
Or an appologist for problematic behavior
Just... choosing to be kind to others
And I talk a lot about the necessity of advocating from kindness, love, and solidarity

The Final Pam is one of my ultimate comfort watches. It always makes me laugh. The McElroys are always charming and funny but this is without a doubt their top tier work
I would like to share with people my favorite thing in the world without any hyperbole which is the monster factory Fallout 4.
It is the wildest ride even if you don't care for the game that it's about they fuck around for a long time in hilarious way is creating this meta narrative

Hey y'all quick call to action
Walmart released a shirt displaying the Nazi salute above the black power fist and quickly took it down but it still exists on Amazon (no surprise there)
If you have the time and space to report the listing I'll share information below on where to go and what to do

I'm always surprised how little I see my US mutuals in the comment sections of our senators social media
Like I get they aren't personally reading every message
But there's some joy and power in ratioing @schumer.senate.gov
Certainly more than just complaining to your friends and moots

Honestly if the Dems cave now they’re betraying the American people.
Trump won’t negotiate. He’s willing to starve people to get his way.
Imagine if instead of asking for weak concessions like a 4 month extension, they dug in and demanded Universal Healthcare?

Obviously the US military has always been shit
But this is a new low
Back in the day their ads were like
"look at the skills you'll achieve don't you want to be the best?"
And today it's
"Hey you can murder people!"
I'm not joking
The actual slogan...
"Be the last thing they never see coming"

Been reflecting on the phrase
"If you don't have hope, have spite"
(and all its various iterations)
Bc generally I do find that it is true
And I think it works so well bc spite is a mindset much like hope that is creative
It leads us to make connections and riff and break out of the dullness

Same thing for visual arts tbh
People often limit themselves and their art by not conceptualizing the medium as more than just the vehicle for their expression
And a lot of folks give up on making art bc they are frustrated with the medium they are using and blame themselves or their lack of skill

I think a lot of people assume that if you have an idea for a story the medium you tell it in doesn't matter, and that could not be further from the truth.
Which you figure out pretty quick if you've tried to work across different mediums. Hell, even working in different styles in the same medium.

My wife and I have two very different responses to having to wake up *slightly* earlier than normal
Her: dancing, listening to music, cracking wise, getting HYPED
Me: hunched over bleary-eyed in a massive hoodie grumbling into my coffee cup

I don't understand the debates about it. You have no right to my attention. If I decide I want to block you I should be able to block you. If I don't want you to be able to reply to me you shouldn't be able to reply to me. If I don't want my quote on your page I should be able to remove it.
Most debates/comments about blocking, muting, and reply settings on this app are about boundaries and the basis for setting them
Women of color setting boundaries to reduce harassment are not the same as white dudes setting boundaries so they don’t get called out on racism or sexism

I guess most diets are just various forms of starvation but cutting off SNAP is a new one
Oz: We thought it was 125 million pounds. Our estimate is Americans will lose 135 billion pounds by the midterms

It's interesting to see how people often devalue this conversation
"Just get comfortable asserting your boundaries" 🙄
I am very comfortable with asserting my boundaries tyvm
And the core of my and others issue with every social space online being used for dating
Isn't really about comfort

The endless search for a place where I and other girls can talk openly about sex without anyone immediately trying to hit us up for sex. This is possible, I do it with cishet women offline all the time, but it seems to escape us online.

I have lost patience
with my coworker
who wants to know
my secret
for not getting sick
so after her latest round
of questions I stated
“the main thing I do
is always wear a good mask,”
and she nodded
in reply she slowly nodded
and then said:
“but I don’t want to wear one.”

In light of today’s discourse, a reminder:
Women have always worked. The big shift from feminism was women getting access to all types of workplaces with an expectation of equal compensation.
When they say they want to kick us out of the workplace, they actually mean they want us to work for free.

One of the big red flags I've learned to not ignore is when someone frequently uses their mental health as an excuse for why they shouldn't be held accountable for the impact of their actions or to shut down gentle call-ins to do better
Bc regardless of intent it creates a toxic power dynamic

Last night Mamdani's speech was filled with remarkable moments both big and small that give me hope
But one that keeps shining for me
Is how authentically happy and proud his family were to stand up there with him
And it really wasn't till that moment that I realized how rare that's become
