I view a lot through my lens of being a former dog trainer bc I love being reflective about animal behavior

And this is absolutely true IME with dogs

A fearful dog can often remain fearful when acting brave or even getting treats

Letting go of fear takes getting curious, exploring, even play
The older I get the more I suspect that Bravery is not the foremost opposite of Fear, Curiosity is.

As a cis Butch who has been harassed in bathrooms reminder to other cis folks to find a place advocating alongside trans women without centering ourselves

Yeah I've experienced a fraction of the violence that trans women face

AND I get wayyyy more sympathy and most importantly systemic support
The practical reality of them is that if you use the bathroom in public AT ALL you are now at risk of violence whether you are a trans woman, trans man, nonbinary or just look like you are.

In the 1800's this was identified as the Urinary Leash bc there were very few public toilets made for women at the time for reasons of "protection and decency"

It served to trap women by keeping them out of public life and dependent

Limiting bathroom access has always been a tool of oppression
The end result of this is not that you don't get to use your choice of bathroom - it's that you don't get to use the bathroom at all.

Suddenly, you have to plan every trip with this in mind. Where are the toilets you know are safe? How long can you go without needing to use one?

Similar about the way I limit replies
I LOVE that this platform lets me be selective about who gets to talk to me

I don't give two shits about my choices limiting me from having a big platform
Been there done that
Not worth the hassle

I treasure my peace and time

Every single person who doesn't consistently mask is actively contributing to the death and mass disabling of their communities

Either by spreading the virus themselves
Or by spreading the idea that you only need to mask if you are sick or "at risk"

Fuck your individualism
Wear a mask

When the pandemic began
we told ourselves
that we’d get through it
by working together,
but once it became clear
that most were unwilling
to work together
we instead told ourselves
the pandemic was already over.

Cathrine O'Hara's cause of death was revealed to be a pulmonary embolism after "a brief illness" while she was facing rectal cancer

Reminder:
COVID increases exponentially your risks of cardiac issues including pulmonary embolisms
And cancer

And she was pretty public about having COVID last year

Idk I think it’s kinda important to remember that dykes look all kinda ways and that’s a good thing.

Like there’s not one lesbian “look” that shit is just Internet Nonsense.

Me watching my wife play cyberpunk

Me: "my love did you bring a literal knife to this gun fight?" (Shooting competition)

My beautiful wife with glee in her eyes: "YES and I'm gonna WIN!"

This woman is the most adorable charming lady and I would marry her a million billion times

Y'all we need to get a lot harsher about incompetence

From videos like this to corps and celebrities hiding like cowards behind the phrase "I don't know"

We need to stop enabling incompetence
By not accepting it as a valid answer

Oh you didn't know? Then you're not qualified to hold this position
THANEDAR: What did your ICE agent mean when he said, 'you raise your voice, I erase your voice' in the video all of us have seen?

LYONS: I'm not aware of that video. I can't comment

Sharing delicious food is one of my favorite ways to build community and share care
🥰🥰🥰
I'm so so delighted that you liked this recipe!

Holy shit, this blew my previous carnitas recipe out of the water! We forgot that there was a sporting event yesterday, so the store was completely sold out of Jalapeno and Cilantro, so we had to settle for store bought pico, and I regret that only because that meat deserves the proper condiment!💥🔥

I keep seeing rocket money ads

And just a quick reminder that giving a third party the ability to view your entire banking history, negotiate contracts, and represent themselves as you financially

IS A VERY BAD IDEA

Always look for the hidden costs of convenience sold by corporations

Well shucks! I was planning on unveiling a Crow Candy discord for enjoying and building art community and skill sharing but guess that plan needs to be scrapped

Definitely appreciating the conversation around where people will go next

We really have misunderstood how to use the word performative and it's become a lazy way of blaming an action from failing to be the silver bullet fix

Y'all need to stop hoping that any single action will end fascism

You don't have to like performance art but it absolutely has a place in activism
Angela, the pussy hats weren't very effective. Knitting is cool, especially if you put resistance messages in it, but it's not resistance. It's performative. It's only actually effective if you're a spy and putting messages in or something. Otherwise it's a hobby, and the pussy hats were just silly.

Like “bad” art is so pure actually. In its lack of technical “skill” or expertise or whatever its just a pure expression of the need to create and express its beautiful
It is!! I love so much tacky naff art. I have a collection of tacky teapots precisely because they are these bold things someone made despite all “good taste” and such. Bad art is almost one of the truest purest innocent forms of human expression
