A lot of non-Jewish leftists suggest Israel needs to "remember the Holocaust," as if the clear moral lesson from the Shoah is a universalist anti-genocide moral lesson. One can just as easily argue the opposite: That there is too *much* traumatic focus on the Holocaust in Israeli cultural memory.
