Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.
My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Policing women on their femininity is not good.
In the '80s, as an activist my hair was short.
It made sense, living in a peace camp with only cold water to wash in, and it meant police couldn't twist my hair when arresting me

Everything the state has done has been wrong, and I would sincerely doubt Micheál Martin will come out and deal with this by sending a forceful message, especially when his justice minister spends his days dog-whistling to appease these lads.
