Thinking back to the times when I would read horror novels to the internet and just stopped reading male authors (because they sucked so, so, badly at it by comparison to their female counterparts)

Right.. cuz i’ve heard way more arguments for Kanye being a musical genius than i ever have for Missy Elliot and i feel like that’s crazy
Agreed. But also? A lot of the ppl who call Kanye genius would never call Mariah Carey a genius. And they likely don’t know who Twinkie Clark is. Some only know about Nina Simone because Kanye sampled her. The concept of intelligence, and therefore genius, is gendered and racialized.
PSA: Kanye West is not a musical genius

Stevie Wonder is a musical genius! They aren’t on the same level at all.

And if Black women didn't want to work for white women as the domestic help? If they wanted to take care of their own kids instead of white ones? They'd imprison them :))
And, this isn’t a dunk, but I have to point out this is very particular to white women because Black women have always been expected to work.
It's also sort of funny that the argument here is basically "corporate jobs aren't fulfilling" but it's framed as if that's only true for women and specifically because of baby-raising and not just the reality of the workplace

Hello!
One of the lasting impacts of William Buckley getting dog walked by James Baldwin in the Cambridge debate in 1965 was that racial conservatism decided it was easier to dismiss Black ideas because they couldn't win the argument.

This is very clearly illustrated by political discussions of working class and middle class voters alongside Black voters as if these are mutually exclusive categories
White folks in the comments and quotes see it stated as clearly as this and still aren't getting it.

Racism was the purposeful, deliberate invention of a classification of man that designated SUBspecies - rendering nonwhite people outside of class entirely.

This was necessary for colonialism.
Issue is people really want to pretend that racism is just color-swapped classism and it’s definitely an element but that ain’t it.

And because capitalism is the only part of this colonialism that meaningfully effects white people, capitalism is all they'll ever let the rest of us talk about

Racism is a nigh inescapable caste system in a way that class has never been in the u.s

Canada is hot trash to be a Black American in, I'm not even gone hold you. There is legit no racial cultural cohesion there for us at all, at least not in fuckshit ass toronto
I am thinking about moving to Canada so that I can stay close to my family in the us and take them out of there and give them shelter when things go bad. I am also deaf and communicate using American Sign Language, which Canada recognizes. But I kept hearing all the racism towards Black folks there.
