It's stressful, but I'm looking forward to the work I'm gonna do to strategize and sort out my finances. I'm doing okay, thank God. But I need to do better.
(And I also need to be better at not putting societal/governmental/capitalist failings on my head as personal shortcomings)

I see the convo about introducing kids to older music, and that's something that has always come easily to me.
Yes, they have their devices/headphones but we listen to music in the car, when we're cleaning at home, when it's bath time...I always find time to play music and experience it together.

I had a tagged version of D'Angelo's "Really Love" from way back then. Thought I was downloading something else, heard those strings, and fell in (really) love.
Early 00s was peak illegal download era. If you were into music at all, you'd hear something on radio or a TV show, find the artist, and get their entire catalog.
I remember hearing "You Dropped a Bomb On Me" in a commercial and downloading every Gap Band song I could find. Been a fan ever since.

I'm so proud of my daughters. Had their parent-teacher interviews today and they're both doing incredibly well. I'm not only proud of how they're excelling, but how they're TRYING. My babies know what effort means and my heart is bursting.
