I guess my only comment is that Dems should take a page from the GOP and make the slogan “Abolish the ICE Gestapo”. Or ”Abolish Trump’s Secret ICE Police”.

ive seen more articles this week about how the phrase “abolish ice” could hurt dems in the midterms than ive seen articles about how paramilitary death squads terrorizing cities will hurt republicans in the midterms

1. Per this, it appears Renee Good was raised in a Presbyterian congregation and was with Presbyterians when she did mission work in North Ireland.
Her home congregation is now PCA (very different than PCUSA), but her wedding with her wife was officiated by her uncle, a PC(USA) pastor.

One maybe important, maybe not, distinction I'd draw is that a lot of Europe went into WWI like "yes! finally! we get to do the thing!" whereas if Trump invades Greenland pretty much everyone will be like "wtf! you stupid moron! what they hell are you doing!"
Is this what the world looked like to people on the eve of World War I? People who had lived their entire lives in a world dominated by European empires that divided most of the continent among themselves? Could they imagine a world without the Habsburgs, Hohenzollerns, Romanovs, and Ottomans?
i mean i think a world where the US genuinely break NATO and launch an invasion of Greenland looks so alien to us that we will not be able to understand it
