Bombers’ Notebook: The Goron Blood Brothers - Zelda Universe
Death Mountain has always been known for housing the most burning hot areas in Hyrule, but only in Breath of the Wild did it take some kind of heat resistant clothing merely to reach the Goron…

I really appreciate that #HyruleWarriors Age of Imprisonment isn't afraid to create new characters that weren't established in Tears of the Kingdom.

I wish Age of Calamity had been more willing to do the same. We didn't need the new champions from Breath of the Wild. We needed new characters.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

I finished my annual playthrough of my favorite game of all time. It's the game that got me started playing #Zelda and changed my life forever.

Games I Completed in 2025 #14:
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles

#FinalFantasyTactics was the first Playstation game I ever purchased. Wiegraf ended my file.

I enjoyed playing the PSP remake on my lunch break many years ago. Wiegraf ended by file.

Wiegraf is finally defeated.

An unexpected influence for the map design of Ogre Battle: Match of the Black Queen, one that as an Amiga gal and Psygnosis fan makes me simile.

In the Vagrant Story Ultimania guide, there's an interview with writer/director Yasumi Matsuno where he cites Amiga game Carthage as inspiration.

I made the decision to learn how to draw on 20 Oct 2020 -- five years ago to the day. To celebrate, I revisited my first project and drew my favorite Pokémon, Psyduck

Here is five years' worth of growth and learning as an artist :)

Morning thought/annoyance:
I am sure there are some good use-cases for LLMs, but summarizing documents and articles is not one of them.

#Firefox just added the ability to shake your phone to summarize an article. It's a completely useless feature that removes all context from what you're reading.

I don’t care if it’s embarrassing to say this, but I want the internet to be kind again. I want people to care out loud without fear. I want sincerity not to feel like weakness.

I don’t want to live in a world where caring about stuff is shameful.

In Final Fantasy Tactics if a unit gains too much faith they leave your party to go find God. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had Beast Tongue and got a monster unit to maximum faith? Of course you haven't. No one has.

I'm sure I'll replay 13 Sentinels someday. It'll be interesting to see how different the experience feels if I still remember the major plot points.

Games I Completed in 2025 #13:
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Another annual replay knocked out. I love this game.

I beat Link's Shadow without the bottom left corner trick this time. I had to rewind the whole fight a dozen times to do it, but I won fair and square. 😎

Today is the 25th anniversary of the release of Ogre Battle 64 in North America.

It's one of the greatest games of all time, and there's no way to purchase it right now.

Fix it!

The artwork of Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen by Akihiko Yoshida used on the cover of the #SuperFamicom and NA #SuperNintendo releases as well as for advertising. Removed the seam between pages, logos/text, applying the usual clean/retouch process without upscaling.

I've been working on some website dev, but I got distracted and spent the evening writing a new guide instead. I wanted the starting inventory data and no one had it.

This seems to be the first time a guide for the starting inventory has been written.

Finally got my copy of Lock-On 6! I’ve been excited this one for ever since I pitched an article about Ocarina’s dev history to them in early 2023. It’s a stunning book.

Very proud to have my name in here, and honored to have @amilcarpinna.bsky.social’s incredible art with my words
