Even in Elon Musk’s denial of his involvement with Epstein—which directly contradicts the available evidence—the world’s richest man is still claiming he knew all about “pedo island” and didn’t do anything to stop it. Even in their fantasies of innocence they’re still directly enabling child abuse

This isn't a news article; it's an ad for Ring and its surveillance state tech masquerading as good news for pet owners about finding lost animals.
Now anyone can tap Ring doorbells to search for lost dogs
Ring says Search Party helps find more than one missing pet a day.

Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

Explaining the strategy of peaceful protests to a gamer: "okay so instead of spamming the basic attack, if you tank enough hits and build public anger, you can do your ult"
this is how you respond. yesterdaty's peaceful protest suceeded.

and now people who weren't angry are
The nighttime protest at PDX ICE facility is now huge after ICE tear gassed children yesterday.

A good producer is absolutely an incredible force multiplier and allows the folks who are creating the actual artifacts to be more effective.

A producer beholden to methodology or who does not understand the needs of the game they're working, however, can do irreparable damage very easily.
I reposted this, and then saw some discourse in the replies, so here's my take: big games absolutely need managers and producers. In fact, as I've grown older, more of my time is spent on being a manager and producer. But I think the underlying sentiment here is: trust the people in the trenches.
I know several games made solely by programmers, I know none made only by project managers.

the confirmation of contemporary transphobia as a political movement has been the brainchild of a boys club made up of some of the most disgusting monsters in recent memory to explicitly keep trans women disenfranchised so as to subjugate and exploit us for their own sexual gain is like

I need people to understand that it’s not just Epstein, it’s the entire rape culture that existed before and after him at every socioeconomic level. That’s why Epstein, who I’ve never thought was particularly smart or interesting, was able to pull this all off—he recognized how abuse functions

People say we can't compare this to the Third Reich because of the atrocities but we only found out about the atrocities after the fact when it was all said and done and we're not done with this yet so I am sure the worst stomach churning shit has yet to be revealed.
ICYMI: The US is currently holding three times as many people in immigrant detention as were detained in the Nazi concentration camp system in spring 1939 — six years into the Third Reich, and just before the start of World War II.

Epstein had a (banned) xbox live account. Epsteins associates talked about using 4chan to manipulate people. Moot met with Epstein the day before they started /pol/. Epstein was buddies with Bobby Kotick.

Gamer culture was clearly something that was in their sights

Epstein’s circle being potentially/partially behind 4chan really upends the commonly touted idea that gamergate taught the alt-right how to recruit and operate

It redefines it as part of a bigger push that was already underway, which frankly makes more sense

While being told every step of the way that Texas should be abandoned and it was their own fault, by people who should damn well know better.
Worth bearing in mind that a huge number of people on the ground have been working tirelessly and for the most part thanklessly, for many years, to make it happen
I’m not actually expecting that the long-prophesied Texas flip is imminent, but y’know, it could be. It honestly fucking could be. It doesn’t happen until it does
