Craziest housing stat of the week: The state spends MORE today on housing than it did in 1976.
The key difference: we used to build council houses, now we spend it on subsidising private landlords.
Our housing system is completely broken.

It’s a huge afternoon at both ends of the table in the Brasileirao

Botafogo and Palmeiras go for the title, whilst Athletico Paranaense, Atletico Mineiro, Red Bull Bragantino and Fluminense seek to avoid the drop.

Check out my match @whoscored.com previews for all ten matches.

I was suspended from Israel’s Knesset for highlighting the tyranny of Netanyahu. Help us to oppose him | Ofer Cassif
I’ve been punished for using the term ‘genocide’ – but hope for peace and justice must be kept alive in Israel and Palestine, says parliamentarian Ofer Cassif

Watching @edconway.bsky.social dissect the latest immigration figures and it’s remarkable what a tiny percentage of the number comes from people on small boat crossings

Completely disproportionate to the attention given to this by the media and many politicians

There were always clues as to how Ratcliffe/Ineos would treat fans in how they treated workers, avoided paying tax in the UK, had a poor environmental record, and were anti-union. Billionaires become billionaires through exploitation and will try to do the same to fans.
‘Everyone may ask how, exactly, it is putting the "Manchester" back into Manchester United to slash jobs from Mancunians and hike ticket prices for local kids, or how INEOS are a "beacon" of a "fan-centred" approach when this latest decision was taken without consultation.’
INEOS arrived at Man Utd on a wave of goodwill but ticket price rises put that at risk
The drive to increase revenue is now affecting matchgoing fans and supporters' groups are not impressed

Sad story in The Times about 88 year old farmer, John Kemp-Welch, who works 5,000 acres of difficult hill farming land in Scotland.
Fortunately, he somehow found time to be Chair of the London Stock Exchange, a stockbroker for 30 years and on the board of HSBC.
