I think a lot about how in the U.S. we have had nearly no commemoration or collective grieving over the losses we had due to Covid-19.Millions of people have had their grief dismissed and ignored and were forced back into a society pretending it never happened. How much could we have healed society?
At midday on the "Covid-19 Day of Reflection", London Fire Brigade's fire rescue boat TANNER delivered a moving tribute to those who lost their lives to Covid-19. It was part of a ceremony that took place along the National Covid Memorial Wall on the South Bank of the Thames.

The effects are being felt at the Hatfield Marine Science Center, Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center, and in other organizations and projects.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

I'm sad to share that the trans vet that took her life outside the VA last week was apparently Elisa Rae Shupe.
She's someone many of us know - she was responsible for the mass email leak that let us know how the ADF, Heritage, etc planned to enact trans eradication we see today.
RIP Elisa.
