Oregon State Parks is offering its First Day Hikes on January 1st. Rangers and volunteers will lead guided hikes at 25 parks around the state. Participants will learn about the park's history, geology, wildlife, and plants.

Officials are warning about an obstruction on the Upper McKenzie River at milepost 52 on Highway 126. A large tree trunk and smaller debris are completely blocking the river. It cannot be passed safely, and there are no safe portage options.

If you want to see a whale off the coast of Oregon, this weekend is a good time to do it. Whale Watch Week this year runs from Dec. 27-31.

Gray whales are migrating south, from summer feeding grounds off the coast of Alaska down to the lagoons of Mexico, to give birth.

The Kennedy Center says it plans to file a $1 million lawsuit against jazz artist Chuck Redd, after the musician canceled his annual Christmas Eve performance.

Redd pulled out of the show days after President Trump's name was added to the exterior of the building.

Last-minute shoppers in Eugene still have a chance to see hundreds of local craft vendors ahead of Christmas.

Eugene Holiday Market will stay open on Dec. 23 and 24, at the Lane Events Center. It is open from 10am-6pm on Dec. 23 and 10am-4pm on Dec. 24.
