Highway 229, which connects the communities of Kernville and Siletz in Lincoln County, has been closed for a month because of a landslide. The Oregon Department of Transportation says the slide destroyed the road from milepost 14 to 15. It could take years to rebuild.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture has settled a lawsuit with a Eugene-area business over a large pile of horse manure.

Lakeview Stables, located about a mile from the Fern Ridge Reservoir, has agreed to remove the waste and to pay more than $24,000 in fines.

Two people were shot and wounded Thursday by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in East Portland, according to the Portland Police Bureau and the FBI.

The two people who were shot have been transported to local hospitals.

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a 37-year-old woman in Minneapolis, according to federal and local authorities. The shooting occurred less than 24 hours after the Trump administration announced a large-scale immigration crackdown in Minnesota.
