I have the day off today so I am about to get out of bed to get a cookie, and then immediately get back in bed.

IRS: You owe us taxes.

Americans: How much?

IRS: Figure it out yourself.

Americans: So I can pay how much I want?

IRS: No. We know exactly how much you owe us but you have to figure it out yourself.

Americans: What if I guess wrong?

IRS: Jail.

For anyone that thought disinformation was a social media problem, it’s great to see all of the legacy media organizations giving best book of the year to a Princeton University press published book full of Covid disinformation.
Congratulations to Stephen Macedo & Frances Lee, whose book In Covid's Wake has been recognized as:

If someone re-clips this clip to remove the blackface at the end that destroyed all my joy, am I allowed to love it again?
Merry Christmas! Please enjoy the opening to this Japanese Christmas concert special that I watch every year.

As far as I can tell, this has otherwise been scrubbed from the internet

If you listen to anyone a whole lot, you'll get brain rot.

I'm not fucking kidding, or teasing. Even GOOD sources/people if you listen to them EVERY DAY you will get brain rot.

It's how we're wired, let me explain
“People take him too literally” is - literally - the attitude that is destroying the world

If anyone saves us it will be the librarians. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart and soul. Knowledge is everything, but only if you can find it. And librarians do so much more. Thank you to all librarians.

I spent my whole career being told librarians are obsolete because of technology (and arguing vehemently that we are not!) so when people finally realize that maybe they should have listened? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Listening to them talk about the dismantling of the sports illustrated archives on Front Burner, and of course no mention of the archivists who worked so hard to organize and make those archives accessible. It was just a resource that existed and no no longer exists. Just a thing. 😭📜

If you're an academic who is protective or defensive about your own area of expertise (understandable, in this day and age), but are offended when it's suggested that professional archivists & librarians have unique expertise outside your own experience, that's worth some self-examination

Ask your friendly academic librarian about all the times we tried to tell you that what we do is important and you should fund it. You get the services you pay for, friends.
Lolololol at every academic who has paid zero attention to their library or constantly-decreasing library funding suddenly being like LIBRARIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING EVERYTHING THEMSELVES AND OUTSOURCING NOTHING like we all have teams of programmers and software engineers.
