In case you missed it, I wrote a tl;dr for my series examining Suikoden 1's English localizations. The final word: the HD Remaster's translation is a definite improvement, but suffers from the same issues as the 1996 translation—namely, a lack of context and not enough editing passes/LQA.

You don't need me to tell you this is yet more good money being burned after bad. But as someone who's worked with that QA team, I'll say they're unsung heroes who truly play a huge role in maintaining SE's reputation for high quality locs and to attempt to replace them with AI is deeply insulting.

This does a wonderful job of showcasing how the Japanese text uses vivid wording and elevated diction just as much as the WotL translation. (FF4 also does this to an extent, which is another reason why I consider the DS translation to be the best both in terms of accuracy and writing quality.)
September's blog is an in-depth comparison between Final Fantasy Tactics' OG translation and the WotL retranslation. To avoid spoilers, I've only covered the prologue.

Tremendously sad news. Carpe Fulgur was the first localization outfit I can remember that focused on bringing Japanese indie games to Steam, back in the pre-Greenlight days when it was a struggle just to get Valve to take notice of you. They were real trailblazers in the indie localization scene.
Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.

my most unpopular opinion is that it's a sign of defective moral character if you point blank refuse to answer phone calls from unknown numbers. it's not that hard to hang up on spam/scammers, and you are probably missing important calls!
