Still thinking of these. When I was a suitable age for them, I was of course "too cool" for something so GIRLY as ROMANCE. Nowadays I'd love to own them just for the novelty of it (and the awesome cover design).
Of course since then I wrote an interactive romance novel myself, so... what can I say.

2) I don't think they see any real value in marketing this particular brand to a young female audience... but at one point TSR did! and it could change again!

If you want to support indie devs the best way to do it is to review their games on Steam, because games get a visibility boost the more reviews they have.
You don't need to write a long review for it to 'count' either, a single sentence is enough.

Today, judging the games at the Groningen Global Game Jam location, one of the developers said "Oh, and you can press `F` to call your mom" and so I pressed it but I was a tiny green alien so then mom alien appeared on in-game voice chat and obliterated the enemies around me with an orbital cannon
