2024 was a year with very little art. I didn't finish my yearly sketchbook and at some point stopped doing personal art altogether. It's ok though, because I finished something much more important:

Got a birthday card from grandma and the illustration is obviously AI slop. I'm really torn up about it because I appreciate that grandma tried to pick an image she thought I would like but also I'm mad because she has no way of telling the difference & is easy to scam by whoever sells that stuff 👿

I'm trying to increasingly use the word "family" when talking to strangers about my home situation. On the one hand it doesn't sit right with me because I know they assume something different. On the other hand, people's looks and questions when I mention my parents are just too annoying 🙃

I'm trying to stop worrying about not being able to share art any time soon. I'd rather wait until I can do it with a more positive attitude 🙈 I've recently found a lovely therapist and I'm currently waiting for insurance to approve the treatment, so hopefully things will get better eventually!

Following up on the issue with my drawing tablet's surface losing its texture... I did the unforgivable and used sand paper to go over the plastic surface. It doesn't look as nice now but it's much less slippery! (Please don't do this at home 😭 I only tried since it's a cheap old tablet)

My trusty Wacom Intuos is increasingly losing its surface texture and this annoying slippery area in the middle is making it difficult draw accurately😭 But I'm also not ready to replace the tablet just because of that...

It's so nice to have some normality return after being sick for a long time! Last night I was running random dungeons in ESO and didn't even notice how it got past midnight because for the first time in months by body was ok with me sitting at the computer for however long I wanted.

Tried something with a more difficult perspective. I don't think it came out quite right but I like the general mood of the piece, so who cares :)
