Kid and I have our own ugly sketchbook now and I'm drawing bears, ducks, fish and cars on a daily basis. Then they get scribbled all over 😂

The digital Artbook is coming along nicely though slowly. I'm mostly stuck on the writing 🥲 It's definitely not my strength but I feel like it's nice to add at least a little bit of context, so I'm trying

I hate having to unlearn using em dashes because of gen AI 🙄 Back in Uni we were taught to use them to improve our writing and it's dumb how it now means the complete opposite.

I thought I had like 2 years of unposted art sitting on my computer but turns out it's almost 4 years 😱 It'll take forever to catch up posting all that, so for now I'm toying with the idea of making a digital artbook for my Ko-fi Shop instead.

Lately I’ve noticed I don’t get as excited about drawing things I used to love, and my brain instantly dives into those existential questions about life and purpose. Then I remember I've been seriously sleep deprived for months and it's not that deep 😅 And that's kinda reassuring?

Luckily, I've gotten much better at this lately!
A three panel comic titled "Portion control". A person is looking at art online. At first they are motivated "That's some interesting art... Maybe I should try that too?" They keep looking at more art and feel motivated: "Wow!! These artists are so good! I can't wait to go practise so I can catch up!". As they look at even more art, they get overwhelmed: "They're so many... Why am I even trying...?"

2024 and 2025 go together for me. Both very tough years that had me fight for every step. I'm glad it all payed off though. While 2024 was mostly a huge downward spiral, 2025 was about rebuilding. Now I'm exhausted, but in a good way.
Little drawings of what the artist was up to in 2025: 1. Tired artist drawing at night, trying to stay on top of work. 2. Exhausted family: Artist, their mom and dad. 3. A new hobby: rerooted some vintage Barbies. 4. 80's toys: two baby rattles and a my little pony. 5. The artist's child grew from newborn to toddler 6. The artists therapist says "Looks like you might be autistic. You just mask like crazy", while the dissheveled tired artist answers "That would explain 99% of my issues...". 7. The artist working on their computer, drawing architecture: Personal art project about the artist's home city to stay sane. 8. More urban sketching, showing a page with some architecture on it. Little drawings of what the artist was up to in 2024: 1. A group of artists is drawing architecture "Joined a local urban sketching group". 2. Found a good new therapist. The therapist is saying: "You're much stronger than you think!" 3. The artist's parents supporting them, shouting "Don't give up! You can do it!" 4. The artist playing Dragon Age Veilguard, happy that it was finally released. 5. Scary bills and meds 6. Took a break from personal art, showing an empty sketchbook. 7. Artist holding a baby: "I'm a parent now!". 8. Artist struggling with all kinds of weird pregnancy issues, lying on the flow and crouching with a bucket.

2025 art summary! I drew very little compared to a few years ago. Most of the time I could have worked on personal art, I just didn't have the mental capacity. It's a miracle I made as much art as I did 🥹
